The "Meta Avatars Store," a brand-new online digital designer apparel store, was introduced by Mark Zuckerberg during an Instagram Live alongside Eva Chen, Instagram's vice president of fashion partnerships.
The new store, which will be accessible on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, will allow users to buy virtual apparel for their avatars. The store will open its doors on Monday, and it will debut with digital apparel from Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne. The pricing of these virtual outfits has not been disclosed by Meta, however it is significant to remember that the free Meta avatar clothing options will still be available.
For the purpose of showcasing the new clothing options offered at the Meta Avatars Store, Mark Zuckerberg posted a picture of his avatar dressed in a range of costumes. Eva Chen, a manager at Instagram, also uploaded a picture of her Meta avatar wearing brand-new virtual attire.
Zuckerberg claims that Meta wants to transform the store into a market where designers can produce and sell apparel.
In a statement, Zuckerberg stated, "We're introducing our Avatars Store on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger so you can buy virtual accessories to customise your avatar. "Digital commodities will be a significant means of personal expression in the metaverse and a major force in the development of the creative economy. I'm eager to introduce additional businesses and eventually expand this to virtual reality.
In the next months, Meta plans to broaden its alliances with important apparel companies to provide customers more choices. Mark Zuckerberg also stated that he is working to make these wardrobes compatible with the company's VR experiences.
